Three computer programs were written with the objective of predicting the structural weight of aircraft through analytical methods. The first program, the structural weight estimation program (SWEEP), is a completely integrated program including routines for airloads, loads spectra, skin temperatures, material properties, flutter stiffness requirements, fatigue life, structural sizing, and for weight estimation of each of the major aircraft structural components. This volume (volume 6) contains...

In this volume the primary intent is to uncover the objective functional relationship between import and export dependencies as they affect the reliability of supply in the past and the future. Until recently, under the aegis of American hegemony, and due to the role the oil multinationals played, both oil exporting and oil importing countries exhibited a sufficiently high degree of dependence on the trade in oil to bring about a symmetry in their reciprocal conditions. The manipulation of oil...

The paper studies the problem of optimal adaptation of an M/M/1 queueing station, when the arrival rate lambda sub zero of customers shifts at unknown epoch, tau to a known value, lambda sub 1. The service intensity of the system starts at mu 0 and can be increased at most n times to mu 1 mu2 ... mu N. The cost structure consists of the cost of changing mu(i) to mu(j) (i+1 or = j or = N); of maintaining service at rate mu (per unit of time) and of holding customers at the station (per unit of...

This paper presents a hypothetical mode of propagation of a large-amplitude disturbance involving turbulent mixing in a temperature-inverted layer. The motions are described empirically, calculating a velocity of propagation consistent with conservation of mass and momentum for a travelling disturbance of the prescribed pattern. This results in propagation velocities of the order of one knot under realistic oceanic conditions. (Author)

The Trajectory Reconstruction Program (TRP) system consists of vehicle simulation subprograms designed and written in FORTRAN for CDC 6600/ 7600, IBM 360/370, and UNIVAC 1108/1110 series computers. The overall simulation system has been designed to accommodate extreme variations in vehicle configuration, flight profile, and mission objective and to provide a fast reaction to specific simulations at minimal cost. This simulation system consists of a family of computer subprograms from which a...
